Escalator: a single channel audio and video installation where everyday urban
systems are transformed via kaleidoscopic patterning, becomes the form and
content of a cinematic meditation. This work brings to play metallic systems,
spaces and rhythms found within an subversive urban landscape. Spaces and
forms which influence, direct and allow human traffic to flow. The video echoes
movement through composure and orchestrated configurations; thus allowing
rhythmic formations to reside outside of their tangible context. Escalator
encircles notions of repetition; in passage is where the viewer is situated with
no entry or exit.
